Hourly Consulting is the most common mode of onboarding consultants. In this model, consultants are onboarded for a minimum number of hours per engagement at an hourly rate. The consultant prepares a timesheet at the end of each week, which is approved by the responsible manager. MindSource bills the client at the billing rate and pays the consultant at the agreed on hourly rate. Overtime must be approved in writing by the hiring manager in advance. The work product is time and material – with the client manager assuming responsibility for directly managing the consultant. The consultant remains employed by MindSource after termination of the contract. Advantages of hourly consulting are:

The client pays an agreed rate and MindSource assumes the responsibility for employee benefits, immigration, and performance reviews.
Contract to Hire
Contract to hire (or try before buy) is a consulting engagement with conversion terms built in prior to the beginning. It’s important to first determine if the consultant would entertain a full time job. Typically a pro-rata conversion agreement allows for a commission to be paid to MindSource for conversion of its consultant based on the number of hours worked.
Contigency Search (or perm search) is an engagement by the client for MindSource to search for a regular full time employee. Fees are charged contingent on placement, often with a guarantee. MindSource bills the client a percentage of the annual salary after the employee has successfully worked for a period of time. Contingency Search is a slower process and best suited for groups of similar skill sets.
Recruitment Process Outsourcing allows MindSource to manage all aspects of onboarding for either consultants or regular full time employees. In this mode, the client pays a monthly fee for process management, and a commission based on objectives. MindSource creates the recruitment framework which can include job fairs, websites, sub-vendor management, contract, benefits negotiation, and interview scheduling.
Fixed Scope Projects are predicated the client having prepared a solid specification of deliverables. MindSource will develop the software against that scope for a fixed price. Any changes to the scope are handled with a change-order process.
Statement of Work
Statement of Work projects represent a hybrid between (hourly) consultant and fixed scope solution and works well in agile development environments. A rough estimate is made of the whole project with many of the details left open. The Statement of Work is prepared as an fixed dollar amount that correlates roughly to the deliverable. The SOW is updated periodically on the fly to adjust to deliverables being added or removed.
Onshore managed services enable the client to gain access to world-class resources and expertise that are outside of the organization’s core competencies and gives them flexibility in resource allocation. When a client selects this model, MindSource provides expertise and project management for a particular project in the client’s country of origin. MindSource identifies the required resources and manages the project for the client throughout the life of the project.
Offshore managed services enable the client to gain access to world-class resources and expertise that are outside of the organization’s core competencies and gives them flexibility in resource allocation. When a client selects this model, MindSource provides expertise and project management for a particular project in other countries than the client’s country of origin. MindSource identifies the required resources and manages the project for the client throughout the life of the project.
Resident managed services are like onshore managed service only differing in the location of the consultant. In this model, MindSource will be present at the client’s site to provide their services.

2. Team Deployment
We deploy the resources needed to turn your initiative into reality. Our consultants go through a vigorous technical screening process that includes reference and background checks. We guide you throughout the entire on-boarding process. We hold a kickoff meeting for both large and small engagements to revisit our commitments and make sure that the engagement stays on track.
3. Contract Administration
Managing the details of an engagement can be complex and time consuming. Matrix management simplifies your daily and monthly duties by having support services available to you at all levels. Your dedicated account manager serves as a single point of contact for contract and reporting needs. Our operations team interfaces with your accounts payable and legal departments to manage consolidated billing. MindSource assumes responsibility for our consultant payroll, insurances and employee benefits, protecting you from any co-employment liability.
4. Technical Management
Throughout the engagement, our team supports you and our consultants to make sure that the deliverable of each technical project is met. Your dedicated account representative acts as a liaison between you and our consultants, managing all weekly and monthly reporting including statements of work and timecards. A project manager, if assigned, supervises technical aspects like bug tickets, weekly team meetings and setting priorities.
5. Wrap Up
Commitments regarding return of intellectual or physical property are made good on at the end of the engagement. We will set up knowledge-transfer as appropriate and our consultants can often remain on call for support as needed. Finally, we will ask you to evaluate the engagement and provide your feedback and suggestions for improving our performance.
